Information for Participating Colleges

January 14-16, 2020

We are excited to offer this special opportunity for homeschooled teens and their parents to learn about a variety of colleges, universities, community colleges, and trade schools in this three-day online event and to help schools like yours connect with these amazing students.

The VIRTUAL COLLEGE FAIR FOR HOMESCHOOLERS is hosted by Arizona Families for Home Education. AFHE has been serving the homeschool community since 1983, working to encourage and equip parents in the education of their children.

Virtual College Fair admission is free for teens and parents nationwide and participation in this event is open to colleges from across the country. We are pleased to be able to partner with you in this way!

Frequently Asked Questions

Read through the Registration Information Packet above for all of the information you need to participate.

Below are answers to some questions that have been asked. Don’t hesitate to contact us at collegefair@afhe.org with additional questions after you’ve read through the info packet.

WHAT IS THE TIME COMMITMENT?

During this 3-day event, you simply need to be available to answer questions from students and their parents who participate in the fair that submit questions for you through the contact form we will include on your school’s landing page (virtual booth) on the homeschoolcollegefairs.com website. That’s it!

You do not need to be logged in on the homeschoolcollegefairs.com website during the event. Contacts will come to your email inbox.

This is a super low time-commitment event that we hope will have excellent results for your school!

CLASSIC LEVEL – 90 MINUTES

For those schools who have taken advantage of the classic level, your representative will need to be available for:

  1. A 30-60 minute video conference call meeting with our event host, Scott McKown, to strategize and plan the questions for your interview.
  2. 20 minutes to record your interview, plus 10 minutes just prior to the interview to get signed in and test lighting, sound, etc.
PREMIUM LEVEL – 2 HOURS

For those schools who have secured a premium level spot, your representative will need to be available for:

  1. A 60 minute video conference call meeting with our event host, Scott McKown, to strategize and plan the questions for your interview.
  2. 30 minutes for your live interview webinar, plus 10-15 minutes just prior to the interview to get signed in and test lighting, sound, etc.
HOW MANY STUDENTS ARE EXPECTED?

As this is a brand new event, we do not have an estimate for expected attendance yet. However, at our 3-hour in-person college fairs that we have hosted we have had an average of 350 teens and parents.

We are networking with fellow state homeschool organization leaders from across the country to promote the event with us, expanding our reach, and we will be doing Facebook ads and email campaigns to promote it as well. We anticipate a good response, but are unable to quantify that at this time.
